Donnington Hall was built in 1927 on land given to the village of Dunton Green in Kent by Mrs Lilian Glichrist Thompson. The monies for the Hall were raised in part by a garden fete held in the grounds of Broughton House in the previous summer. Thus Donnington Hall and the land around it belong to the village, and as both a communal facility and a piece of property is a valuable asset to the village.
A history of the Hall can be selected from the link above.
The Hall is run on a purely voluntary basis by a committee which consists of elected members of the community plus representatives of organisations that use the Hall on a regular basis.
The address of the Hall is Barretts Road, Dunton Green, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 2UN.
For hire purposes Donnington Hall consists of the Main Hall and the Committee Rooms - the latter can be combined into a larger room by folding back the partition. The Main Hall and the Committee Rooms can be hired separately or together. If a Hirer requires the Main Hall and the Committee Rooms, i.e. exclusive use of Donnington Hall, then the Committee Rooms will be charged for at a nominal rate of £1 per hour and added to the Main Hall charge. On Saturdays, functions extending to the late evening are charged for the Main Hall on a session basis, not by the hour, and the charge includes the use of the Committee Rooms.
